Take a walk with The Freddie Smith Big Band exploring the exciting sound of big band music, from its earliest beginnings through to the modern day.Hear many of the well-known composers/arrangers such as Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Sammy Nestico and Gordon Goodwin.
Listen to arrangements by local musicians, Steve Parry, musical arranger for ITV’s “The Voice”, Bryan Pendleton, who previously arranged/performed with the Sid Lawrence Orchestra, and Keith Allen, a talented trombonist and arranger.
Special guest vocalists for this debut performance at Heswall Hall are the talented Paula Jennings and Chris Hewitt. Highly experienced professional singers with decades of performing throughout the Northwest music scene, singing many of the classics from Ella Fitzgerald to Frank Sinatra.
